Robert Redford's character is discussing someone failing to return a borrowed book and is asked "I would never lose a friend over a book?" and his reply was "He has." (paraphrasing a bit)... The point is that firendships are not eternal unless theya re reciprocal and respectful. Your 'friend' sounds like the aerage rightwing zealot who listens to the radio all day, watches Fox News and Newsmax all night and wonders why he is always angry.

You are better off without his poisonous vibe and attitude. Lose not one second's worth of peace over HIS decisions.
