A NYC street with sidewalks is ~102' x 900'. This leads to 92,000 SF (square feet). Including the intersections I bump it up 10 % to say 100,000 SF per block x 17 blocks full (from 42nd to 26/25th) leads to 1,700,000 square feet. The maximum density of humans packed shoulder to shoulder is ~1/meter squared gives ~168,000 people. I calculate that because it was a march and the line continually refreshed there were actually ~.5 million protesters in NYC easy. That times the 5 largest cities - Boston, Phili, Chicago, LA and SF gives 2.5 million. With an additional 2295 protests, I do believe we exceeded the 3.5% threshold. That means the average of the other events was a little over 4,100. I want numbers.
