(386 posts)...unfortunately large percentage of the American public make perfect sense. So it is hard to actually call it insanity or cognitive decline. Far from being able to fulfil his duties, his Cabinet believe in lock-step that the things you listed ARE his duties. Why would they invoke the 25th?
Even most Republicans that disagree with much of what he does do not call it insanity or cognitive decline--nor do they call for his ouster. And they seem to be able to translate the things we hear as totally incomprehensible into something that makes sense--to them at least.
My fear is that we are running into a metaphorical silo that will allow them to use a "bunker busting" bomb on our way of thinking. We must be smart, measured, persistent, and persuasive to lead the country in another direction. We must consider him and his followers as competent adversaries to be countered at every turn--not as a circus of inept clowns that came into town with the local fair. For all the talk of mental shortcomings, the MAGA movement has been a successful one--like it or not. We must somehow counter with a movement of our own that brings more Americans into our way of thinking about the world.
