2. its pretty much on the timeline I envisioned

They had four years to sit around all day and plan for and get geeked up for what they would do when they got another cut. I am sure he and the rest of them regretted that they played within the norms as much as the did the first time and knew they were going to come out fast and just level the whole thing as soon as possible.

I thought we would see Ds pols getting hornswoggled and arrested and acts of stochastic terror by the summer of year one and we already have hit those thresholds, and I knew the media was going to completely roll over and it has.

Not sure how it will look, but they have no intentions of just standing by and chancing dems getting into power in either chamber of congress in the mid terms. Either on the front end with controlling the elections in some way, or the Rs in congress refusing to seat them.

Then ... presidential election will be whatever it will be to keep DT in charge.

This battle was lost man times over the half century, they incrementally got things to this point - the country failed repeatedly to push back on right wing fuckery and just relentlessly indulged it.
