(39,972 posts)Our community tends to be under-served and the doctors tend to be here for altruistic reasons not compatible with Republican ideology. Even the doctors motivated by Evangelical Christian or conservative Catholic religious beliefs don't tend to be overtly political, though they may have voted Republican. We have a lot of immigrant doctors too. If they were Republicans before Trump 2.0 they are learning their lesson now, especially if they are not white males or have family and friends terrified by ICE.
My sister lives in a nearly all white rural area in a red state. She doesn't think the local doctors are good and they are overwhelmingly Republican. I suppose these Republican doctors are learning their lesson too as rural hospitals and clinics close. Or maybe they are just blaming Democrats for their misfortunes and self-inflicted wounds, as Republicans tend to do.
