5. My church's food bank

We are small food pantry, one of four operated by churches in our town. Local groceries donate food of all types that is about to expire; we pick up two days a week. Also get some USDA food -- beans, rice, oil, powdered milk, and the like.

We distribute each Saturday. Have gone for about 600 families per Saturday to almost 1,000 last Saturday and we all are dreading tomorrow.

Meanwhile, USDA shipments have dropped to half what they were.

I hate Trump and I hate Republicans. I know it did no good but I told a Republican acquaintance earlier this week about the food pantry load, his response was something about "Democrats caused it." I walked off, did not turn around in spite of his calling after me. Got home, blacked his number on cell phone and landline, blocked him on email, removed him from Facebook. I really do hate these fucking people. It may sound stupid but I'm am afraid of what I may do if confronted by another one. Going on 81, retired 30 years ago after 28 years in Army, Vietnam vet, Army Ranger, work out five days a week -- goddam but I am honestly afraid I will deck someone.
