They're still doing that inanity, as if it's some sort of political genius.
If the election had been won, Trump's trial, already in court with most of the evidence approved by the judge, including the revised indictment, would have proceeded to a conviction.
Supreme Court's maga majority is never mentioned in these screeds. I think it's because confronting them is hard and it's an easy lift to attack your own side. Always has been throughout political history.
But where's the actual virtue in this for critics who have NEVER bothered to explain ANY of the known details of the Garland/Smith investigation and prosecution. It's clear that doing so would complicate their 'Garland bad' narrative to the point of discrediting it, so I don't expect anything more than this gaslighting from them.
What I really can't wrap my head around is the trust throughout these screeds against Garland based on this incorrect and incomplete innuendo from this ONE reporter, Carol Leonnig, who can't be bothered to detail ANYTHING of consequence to Trump's prosecution that was supposedly delayed.
I'm still waiting for the breathless articles about what the Supreme Court did in ensuring the trial wouldn't be held before we voted. The unconcern about Trump's maga majority enablers isn't just weird, it's insidiously complicit in the focus being taken off of them, deliberately, I think, in many cases, to pile on Merrick Garland as if he was some private dick, instead of the administrator of the DOJ; as if he was gumshoeing instead of administrating.
The people who are really being denigrated here are the career prosecutors who worked harder than ANY CRITIC to hold Trump accountable; and no one has shown any proof they were hindered to the point of materially affecting the outcome of the investigation or prosecution.
That sophistry takes precedence over substance everytime this canard is raised, and no thinking adult should be influenced away from putting the blame on the Supreme Court and the other compliant courts who also delayed their hearings over the unprecedented flurry of appeals and challenges to EVERY Garland or Smith move.
Much easier to just say, 'Garland bad' or 'Garland late,' than to do the work of holding the Supreme Court's maga majority accountable.
GARLAND'S GONE AND THEY'RE FUCKING STILL THERE COVERING FOR HIM!
WAKE THE FUCK UP.
