There is a real chance it could be the end of Trump. All depends on whether the GOP calculates that it is better to turn on him and vote to impeach or play along with his lies.

We know that if they failed to cook the books Trump is going to play up the “big lie” angle again. Just like the election, it’s a Democrat conspiracy. It worked for him before, he’d definitely try again.
