Seeing and hearing these men describe their actual experiences is incredibly powerful. The impact is completely different from reading a bland news article account of how Cecot is a terrible place.

It's like the difference between reading about the holocaust and watching a first person account of what someone went through (many, many of which have been preserved, fortunately).

I understand how you feel, Farmer-Rick, about how you once defended this country. But I honestly believe that the the country you defended is in many ways not the same one that is committing these outrages under Trump. Perhaps it may help to remind yourself of that.

The Orange Hellbeast is doing his best to transform this country into something that is completely divorced from so many things it once stood for, even as it imperfectly embodied them. The idea that people have certain inalienable rights, the separation of church and state, the rule of law, the list goes on and on. Those principles are being ignored by our disgusting excuse for a president right now but they are not dead yet, and there is still hope that we will be able reclaim them.
