call someone you trust and ask them to check. (Don't step outside to check it yourself; it's probably a ruse to trick you to step outside so they can abduct you or shoot you.)

In other news, I'm still waiting to see the Pope's baptismal certificate since one of the flunkies asserted that the Pope is Catholic....
