As it happens, I was just watching some clips from "Thunderheart" the other day, specifically the ones about the illegal uranium mining on the reservation, and how, if the deal went through, it was a death sentence. And I live near mining country (gold, silver, and molybdenum) and the site of the former gold ore processing plant down here. I shudder to think, sometimes, about what we are breathing here. Especcially these days, as the idiots in charge are allowing a huge additional development directly on the processing site. Every time I see the clouds of dust that are being stirred up, I want to cry, or scratch their ignorant, greedy eyes out.
There was a brief scene in "A Charlie Brown Christmas", where Pigpen makes the comment that some of the dust he is carrying could well be some of the same dust that was arround jesus, and adds, " makes you want to treat me with a little respect" (paraphrased).
