As you pointed out, there's nothing in it for them. The logistics of pulling out and rescheduling such major events at what amounts to the last minute are nothing to sneeze at, and it would no doubt cost them a lot of money to do so. They'd have to care A LOT about things they don't give a skinny rat's ass about to even be willing to try. So here we sre.
