in video, Mr. Gibson says that right before they booked him, the ICE agents took out their personal phones, posed next to him with thumbs up and took photos of himEarlier in January, Garrison Gibson was detained by ICE and flown to El Paso, Texas, only to be returned home days later and detained again.
In a press conference on Jan. 18 he said that he has been in the United States for 17 years and has regular check-ins with ICE. According to court records, Gibson’s most recent check-in with ICE was on Dec. 29, less than two weeks before masked gunmen from the agency illegally broke down his door.
Gibson said that he’ll continue fighting the government’s efforts to deport him to Liberia, a country he hasn’t visited since he fled a civil war there when he was 6 years old.
