Florida driver's license tests will be in English only starting Friday [View all]

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFOX) — Starting Friday, people in Florida will only be able to take a driver’s license exam in English.

The deadline has some people rushing to take the exam before their native language is no longer an option.

Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said in a press release that the state takes a leading role in highway safety by requiring all driver’s license exams to be taken in English and without an interpreter.

Before the change, exams could be taken in Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and other languages for noncommercial licenses.
