that people born in Puerto Rico are U.S. citizens, and although they are self-governed they are subject to US Federal laws. Also, it highlights the "strange" attitude by many in the US of "you're in America, speak English" - which in my opinion is simply masking bias against non-European languages and cultures.

We are a multicultural society made up of immigrants from all over the world - it is time for us to accept that fact and be proud of our diversity and view it as a strength, not a weakness.

As a Texan, I wish I had learned Spanish and I think the Texas education system does a disservice to its citizens by not promoting a bilingual education for everyone.
