25. They had no plan

They were emboldened by kidnapping Maduro and thought these strikes would topple Iran's leaders so they could install someone who would hand over Iran's natural resources to their friends. They figured the people they saw protesting would do the heavy lifting.

One of the main miscalculations was that Iran doesn't have a viable opposition group that is armed and can make a real dent against the government. The best we could have hoped for is someone from the Supreme Leaders inner circle would take over and come back to the negotiating table.

Now it's chaos and no one knows what comes next.
