(17,450 posts)I accept your assessment and your understanding, but it sounds to me that IF you DID live in Texas, you might not be ready to endorse Talarico. And that would not be the best decision.
Texas is still in a red neck strong hold and it is not going to change over night. It is going to change step by step by step. Anyone - I do not care about color, gender, etc. - who is a Democrat in Texas - needs to get behind Talarico now and support him with all that they have. Only by winning the actual Senate seat will we have even a hope of making change.
I voted for Talarico. But I said here many times on DU that if Crockett got the nomination that I would support her even though I didn't think her chances in the general were very good. The alternative is unthinkable.
I expect no less now that Talarico has been declared the winner from ANYONE who wants to make change in Texas. Crockett has been most gracious, and her supporters need to follow her lead.
