1. Yeah, there was an unopposed seat in the house district here in the Chicago area, too.

I wrote my own name in. But next time I'm at a party gathering, I'm going to see what can be done about that. But in this area, today there are several congressional districts where no Republicans were running. And most of the state legislative districts in Cook County had no Republican on the primary ballot. So it balances out.
