(670 posts)Your google it response is popular with a subset of members when media coverage comes into critical view. There is certainly an argument to be made about being hypercritical of the media, OP was about prominence of coverage, not the existence. Whether that prominence is driven by clicks from the users or manipulated by the site owners is debatable, but as a somewhat invisible user of media sources, I either have had to scroll pretty far down or to another page to find news about this. I think the complaint is not about being able to find news about it and rather what the media wants to point our attention to or away from. Its a reasonable response to coverage from a point of view. Im not sure what your reply is supposed to prove other than there are articles about the protest online. This would be a decent rebuttal if OP hadnt already admitted there was buried coverage. Prominence matters. Thats why it costs extra money in the physical and online advertising world.
