That is the precise mob dynamics I hate. Be silent for way too long and then in a scrambling panic eschew due process in the other direction.

Mob justice is never the solution and to avoid that accountability and honest oversight (not panicky liability culture) should exist from the start.

If female victims of overt sexual harassment and assault have to deal with so much shit, how can someone like me making a point about the general creepiness of a PanOpticon where I am not even blaming men so much as the greedy, corrupt architects of this worldview expect to not be labelled paranoid crazies?

I dislike women like these as well:

https://paw.princeton.edu/article/professor-corina-tarnita-epstein-files-i-wish-i-had-never-known-him

Prof Tarnita is either lying or stupid - she can pick. My own temper is frayed from operating in grey areas related to shit I had nothing to do with. Thankfully I have never had to deal with creepa or predators, but only the insensitivity and hypocrisy of the PMC class on the one hand and this mob dynamic otoh. It is pissing me off. I feel that being a reasonable person in these shitty societies is mostly torture.

I wish I was a liar, a fascist, crazy and greedy. I’d dash dash fit right in! Or at least had a martyr complex rather than trying to figure out with exceedingly bad grace what minimal concessions can be made to these “I love a permacrisis!!!!! I am sensible!!” types.

Look at Dr.Fauci. The rare public figure along with Lina Khan, whom even I trust. These factory farmed meat eating, ventilation shutdown ignoring douchebags find “Beaglegate!!!” to smear even him. And bs conspiracies like “lab leaks”.
That’s actually disgraceful. Representative Swalwell can otoh deal with the fallout of his behavior like Anthony Weiner, Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo etc.

Yeah the Al Franken case was a rare outlier in being one that I was confused by.

I agree totally that mobbing witchhunts should be avoided in favor of due process and even redemption as appropriate. That doesn’t mean this trigger happy forgiveness for credibly accused men and attacks on female complainants ignoring how hateful it is for women to come forward.

In fact I hate the mob crap as the worst response to the original error.

I don’t think harassing poorly paid male techies with more torture like surveillance billed as oversight by some Ambani or Pentland type is the fix. Should everything be spelt out?
The fix is to give a shit about humans understanding the different challenges women and men like low paid workers face.

Though not the creeps ever. A sane world works for everyone but creeps. Getting rid of all HR to peddle shady clunkware and then hire frazzled, gig workers to avoid decent stable jobs without..
These guys are all idiots..

No harm in using your brain once in a while over the perma panic mode that I at least kept for paper deadlines etc not “creep rights!!!”. No wait “scramble the other way!!!” Real elegant.
