5. I've had a similar sense,

and have been hoping that the Supremes might start getting worried, and put more limitations on him.

That said, another concern that judges often have is the possibility of crises if they issue rulings that for one reason or another can't be enforced. The judiciary alone or even in combination with Congress has scant means of enforcement – police powers are under the executive branch; and Trump has replaced much of the executive with his own creatures.

I hope the Supremes recognize the dangers before it's too late.
