7. Irony might be...it was easier WITH the Puke gerrymandering.

Recent events have certainly fired up the Dem base and made a lot of independents quite mad. As though we needed even more to stoke those flames. A number of Republicans, including some targeted in the Indiana state senate races, thought gerrymandering to this extent was dangerous. When you dilute blue votes, you're also diluting red votes as well. It's not like they suddenly hatched more red votes from the rocks and trees. So instead of a bunch of really safe, greater than +10 red districts, you've got a whole lot more +5 red or less. In this climate, that might be disastrous for them. Time will tell.
