Yesterday

From the days of Anita Bryant and Lee Atwater, they've developed a propaganda network the likes of which this country has never seen. Divide and conquer. Don't mind the rich stealing from you. Just irrationally hate somebody! One of the driving forces has always been racism. Particularly in the south and certain Midwest states. Mizzou included. I saw it from the time I was in primary school in TN back in the early 70's with the uproar over deseg. It hasn't changed one bit.

LBJ summed that up best...

"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."
