I'm constantly amazed by the number of people who have not actually read it in its entirety. For the 1976 Bicentennial, I actually memorized it in its entirety and recited it at a community celebration. (I don't think I could do it again!) I still remember a lot of it, but kinda shaky on all the charges against the king. It was fun, though., and it taught me a lot about our national "birth certificate."
