5. I'm glad you call it the Great Starvation.

It was (incorrectly) called a famine by the people who caused the starvation. During the years the potato crop failed the grain harvests were excellent. But the grain was stolen by the people who then called the whole thing a famine.

And that is very apropos to your OP.

I was actually thinking this same thing today - the point of your OP, I mean. During these times when so many seek to divide us it is essential that we Democrats pull together. We are a geographically and culturally diverse party. Unlike the Republican Party, who have only one purpose (feed the rich) and myriad ways to lie about it, our party has lofty goals that require complex plans and many different strategies.

We can do it.
