And scammers use text messages to leverage scams.

And they use computer software, email and also freeware, to scam and hack to extract money and convertible information.

Like they used telephones to leverage scams.

I used to get scams leveraged by the USPS. Not so much anymore.

Where's your level of comfort at blaming and banning the tech because of how people with free-will abuse the tech?

It's a race, and bad usually outstrips good because good reacts--and when good gets ahead of bad, then its good that tends to act badly.
