The 4th of July used to be one of my favorite holidays [View all]
Summer. Grilling, No gift pressure. Fireworks. The genius of the Founding Father and Red White and Blue!
A growing irritation over the years was an attempt by many to turn the 4th of July into another military holiday. That is not what the day is supposed to be about.
My love of the 4th was further weakened in 2022 when we experienced the Highland Park Parade massacre in the Chicago area. Our local parade and most others were canceled as the gunman was still on the lose. The whole day was a feeling of why do these alienated young white males keep doing this; a question that is not asked enough.
But seeing the garish buffonary of the Orange Man trying to make the 250tn anniversary of the Declaration of Independence about HIM and at the same time grift every last cent off of it has forever soured me on the holiday.
More troubling to me is that millions of Americans don't understand that Donald J. Trump is EXACTLY THE THING THE FOUNDING FATHERS WERE REBELLING AGAINST!
So for the MAGA Trump loving, Lee Greenwood, "Proud to Be an American", "ignorant dumbfucks who fly the Confederate Flag with the American Flag: YOU ARE TO BLAME FOR THE TRUMP ERA and you're so stupid you don't see the irony.
