Glad your dogs aren't affected. But as I asked earlier - what about all of the other animals that didn't have you to convince them that fireworks aren't dangerous? You're okay with the wildlife mothers who will abandon their babies because they panic over the noise? The stray dogs that run into the street and get hit by a car? The horses that rear and break a leg?
If fireworks stayed just inside your house or your yard or your apartment and didn't bother anyone else, that would be one thing. But they don't. They travel and they are loud and frightening. Why should I have to listen to your noise when I should be entitled to the quiet enjoyment of my home?
I don't know where you are in Texas, but in most of the metropolitan areas, including most of the smaller towns, they are illegal as hell. Yours is a very selfish attitude. Okay, you've convinced me. Lacking empathy is typically the trait of a Republican.
