but the call was valid, England's player slid with studs exposed, foot high (it went over the ball) and struck the Mexican player near the knee. Could be used as an example of Serious Foul Play.

I was surprised the Mexican goalkeeper taking down the English player in the 18-yard box was not at least a yellow and reviewed for a possible red.
