Maybe he’s just now starting to notice it.

Maybe up til now he’s been able to con himself into thinking everybody loves, honors, fears, and worships him, when that’s hardly been true from the beginning. Yes he’s had plenty of fawning fans, but when that’s all you hear and accept, because it’s been “handled” so as to block out ANYTHING negative that you might find objectionable, then you’re just living in a cloud of falsehood.
