When Graham Platner was accused of sexual assault, he is being pressured to drop out across the political spectrum. On the progressive left, Zohran Mamdani said he should drop out. So did Bernie Sanders despite him unlike Mamdani initially endorsing him.
But when countless Republicans running were accused of sexual misconduct, they were let go by their party and voters when they downplayed it. For example, Matt Gaetz was accused of effectively raping a 17 year old girl by giving her a drug and then sexually assaulting her.
Even though there were some exceptions (like Jay Jones using violent language against Republicans in leaked private messages), none of those rose to the level of sexual assault on the left, at least not in the modern political era. Eric Swalwell was accused of something similar and he dropped out. This has happened many times before with celebrities as well. Harvey Weinstein got no love for being a Democrat, but the same could not be said for the Clown President, who was also an actor and faced even worse allegations.
