Some thoughts on Platner. [View all]

First, let me say, I’m not from Maine. While everything from the tattoo to the sexting to the last accusation is troubling, his policy statements align with mine and what I think we need across the board. Apparently, they align with what a majority of Maine democrats voted for in the primary. How, should he withdraw, is the Democratic candidate to be determined?

I would suggest the following: Platner should be replaced with a candidate whose policies are closely aligned. Along with this, the Democratic establishment/hierarchy (whatever you want to call it) should agree to provide full endorsement and normal funding for that person’s campaign.

Another concern I have is how this new candidate will be vetted in such a short time.

I also think that whatever happens the accusations should be further investigated.
