Trump on Platner rape allegations: 'A lot of people say big falsehoods' [View all]
President Trump weighed in on the accusations against former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner on Wednesday, questioning whether people should believe the sexual assault allegations against the Democrat.
“It’s really a question of whether or not you believe the woman. A lot of people say big falsehoods,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One.
He’s in a bind,” he added.
The president’s remarks came hours before Platner dropped out of the race over the controversy sparking by two accusations of rape and previous scandals regarding racist remarks online in addition to a tattoo that resembled a Nazi symbol.
