Feinstein wandered off for three full months and cited shingles. There was online speculation about that, too, but she resurfaced eventually.

And I imagine Democrats - particularly senators - aren't being too loud about it precisely because no party has a monopoly on aging and ill members who bounce for weeks at a time and miss votes due to related issues.

The Senate, being what it is, probably knows what's up with McConnell. If he was brain dead, there are no doubt Democratic staffers in positions to know. It would've leaked. The fact nothing has may point to the idea that social media is having fun, but the people in power actually know the deal.

Washington isn't a quiet place, and a lot of this brain dead speculation is pinned on Laura Loomer of all people.

He might be in bad shape - wouldn't be surprised if he does die - but admittedly the life support until Aug 3rd theory is a fun one.

At the end of the day, who knows.
