(3,449 posts)35. And here's Jackson's position on ICE
Abolishing the Agency: Jackson has campaigned on the platform that ICE should be dismantled and rebuilt into a new way that "respects the rule of law" and targets only actual threats.
Accountability: Following an ICE-involved shooting in Biddeford, Maine, Jackson joined protesters in Mechanics Park, demanding accountability, calling ICE agents "untrained and reckless," and insisting that they do not receive a "free pass" just because they claim to be law enforcement.
State-Level Action: During his campaign for governor (prior to his Senate bid), Jackson published an ICE action plan that proposed creating executive orders to establish "safe zones" in Maine and calling on the Maine State Police if ICE attempts operations there.

And again, he does talk some specifics. I give all three candidates credit for that. Of the three, Shah's positions sound the firmest, and most likely to really motivate the kind of action we need, but I am pleasantly surprised by all three.
