Just from a day-to-day clinical aspect, I have male patients come in all the time asking to have their testosterone level tested because they're having erectile difficulties. Nine times out of ten, their testosterone level is normal.

I've had rare requests from guys with normal testosterone levels ask for testosterone supplementation, thinking it will get them jacked at the gym. I have to let them down easy, saying the high blood pressure, strain on the heart, and risks of blood clots aren't worth whatever they thought they were going to get in return.
