4. If Spain wins they should refuse to let him even handle the trophy given his horrible comments

on tariffs and vengeful comments re: Iran war to them.

If Argentina wins, they should grab Messi and the 2-3 other best players, hand them the trophy and let them head out immediately from the ceremonial stage before Trump even gets up there.

He should be accorded zero respect except to allow him to HEAR the thanks, gratitude and complements toward the US cities, their fans/supporters, and the organizers. But to the extent he gets any kind of thanks, it should be minimal, rapid, and almost dismissive.

And for those who have really negative comments ready to launch at Argentina--if they win-- can we just celebrate Messi and his team mates instead? Messi, is, after all one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) of all time in Soccer and for those who want to hold out the geopolitics of Argentina into the discussion--Messi played longer for Spain (Barcelona) than he has played anywhere else. They, after all, took an intensely talented young boy and gave him the growth hormone treatment that was not available to him in Argentina, effectively treating him and allowing him a long career in Spain afterward. Sorry, but from all I read and hear, Messi is considered a bit introverted, but one of the nicest people/players in world sports, so I just don't understand some of the very negative comments directed toward him on DU and in some other quarters.
