29. Signs was fantastic right up to the twist at the very end.

When the alien in the farmhouse couldn't figure out how to open the door my suspension of disbelief took a slight hit. These guys can travel the stars and can't get through a rickety door? Okay, I guess.

But the big twist that water is like acid to them completely ruined the movie. They've mastered interstellar flight but couldn't figure out that the planet they're about to invade is 70% acid? That the air itself is literally saturated with acid? Really?

It was such a stupid twist and it wrecked the movie for me. The same thing happened again with The Village. I really enjoyed that one up to the moment the twist is revealed.

One of his more recent films, Devil, was quite good. The twist in that one was a neat touch.
