64. Huh, I've never heard that interpretation before.

I vaguely recall that there were news clips in the film showing the lights of alien ships hovering over various cities, and maybe a bird running into one of the invisible ships and falling out of the sky. That might be from a different movie, though.

The demon interpretation works a lot better, though, since you could argue that Hess's renewed faith allowed him to make the water become holy water and that's why it was lethal to the invaders.

Maybe I'll give it another watch through that lens and see how it shakes out. Thanks!
