The republican party has taken things that should be government owned and run entities like NASA and defunded them to the point that they had to outsource the work to private companies.

This is where Musk took his PayPal money (seeded with emerald slave mine money) to buy space x and other companies that do what the government should do. It's a big start up cost. So, once you start getting government contracts and buying influence, no other company has the infrastructure to take over and be compliant with the laws and regulations that the company with the contracts helped write through their lobbying arm and bribes (err... campaign contributions).

Mango Mussolini can threaten those contracts, but there is no other company that will step in.
