3. I lived through the 1973 gas shortage.

Wednesday

America was still producing land yachts getting 10 mpg or so.

The big 3 were slow to the party and left the door open for Honda, Datsun and others.

When Detroit finally decided to get better mpg, they just underpowered the land yachts or produced crap like the Pinto and Vega. The race was lost.

The public is sold on the EV. Soon it will be the norm for a generation and a gas powered car would be as desirable as a 1973 boat.
