The gulf states are easy targets, especially their oil and gas infrastructure.

Their goal is simply to make fellow Muslim lives miserable by doing business with the US. Granted ‘fellow Muslim’ isn’t really a thing since Iran is Shiites and the gulf states are mostly Sunni.
