Nervous Canadian [View all]

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Lasher (a host of the The DU Lounge forum).

Hello from the great white north! (Montreal) I speak to you as a neighbor, the guy on the other side of your fence. We strive to live quietly, as peacefully as possible, having an occasional talk, borrowing an item, chit chatting from time to time. But next door to you is a creep with a loud, barking and dangerous Doberman. His lawn is uncut, his pickup truck is always filthy, he swills beer and dumps the empties in his garden. But you tolerate this behavior, even though it bothers you and is a direct interruption of your daily life. Why do you put up with this? He (Trump) knows he is a blemish in the town, but his brash character seems to put some sort of fear into the locals, and so instead of reporting him to authorities, it is somehow better to do nothing and maybe he will go away. SORRY! Your neighbor is here for the next four years, so it is up to you and the community to rise up and react NOW!! Your lack of action puts us in a tenuous situation, as we (Canada) sit on the other side of the fence, wondering when our way of life will be affected by this pest. This puts our trust and future friendship into an uncertain state, definitely not good for all concerned. We Canadians all like Americans, we love your country, we love to travel throughout your country, we love to do business with your country, but we do not like the direction your country is heading...and it makes us nervous.
