a burbling mountain stream, raindrops falling on the tent; also, the sound of waves lapping on the boat's hull as they gently rock me to sleep.
Above all, the laughter of children, the sweetest hymn the universe will ever know.

Ocean waves are wonderful. In the wintertime, that ABSOLUTE silence of still snow falling-- sans any wind or traffic.
