Please do what you can to ensure he knows how loved he is. And as loved as he is here, I would bet he is loved equally in many other nooks and crannies of this imperfect world - which will be so much more imperfect if and when we lose him.

Thank you for this update, which is painful to read and must have been even more painful to write and post. But we needed to know.
