He did a concert in Pittsburgh at the Civic Arena (some 'Philly' people will know that it is where Sydney Crosby plays!) - NOT a great concert hall, but rather a 'sports arena' that was able to hold a larger crowd that had demanded to hear the great Luciano!
The 'unique' thing about the Civic Arena was that they had a domed roof that could be opened to make the Pittsburgh skyline visible to the crowd.
So there it was - the beautiful Pittsburgh skyline twinkling in the background while Luciano did his best encore performance of Nessun Dorma, complete with white handkerchief, and I was locked for life with one of my best moments ever!
By the way - that was my 2nd chance to hear him live. Years earlier he performed at a 'true' concert hall in town (Pittsburgh) with Dame Joan Southerland! The best of the best, for sure!
