4. I used to have a border collie who loved water.

We lived in a city so on weekends we took him out into the countryside to run free. If we tossed a stick into a creek, he dove in to retrieve it.

We lived on Lake Erie so we took him to the lake. My husband threw a rock into the water at the lake's edge and the dog waded in, felt under the water until he located the rock with his paws, then dove his head in to pick it up and bring it back to us.

We had an old-fashiobed claw tub. He used to turn on the bathtub faucet, cover the drain with his paw until the tub started to fill, then pull his paw back to watch the water swirl away.
