(4,627 posts)A few years ago, when I was still working in home health, my vision got so bad, I was getting nervous about driving. One of my friends told me he had a vitrectomy, where they draw the vitreous fluid out of your eye and replace it. It gets rid of your floaters. I had it done in both eyesat different times, of course. It made an astounding difference in my vision. Im not saying this is what you need, but it sounds like it would help if your health will allow it. Its a simple procedure, but it is considered surgery and they might be trying to stay away from surgery with you. Youll have to ask them. For the first few days after they took the patch off, I had to work extra hard to get the images to line up in both eyes instead of seeing one on top of the other, but my brain worked this out. Still for the next six months when I would first awaken, my brain had to negotiate the same issue for the first few seconds after opening my eyes. But it was worth all these minor inconveniences to get my sight back.
