Forgive me for not clarifying in my post that Toby is my roommate, but I am taking your advice with Shadow and Petunia.

Shadow looks completely lost, like she's waiting for him to get home. She's been off to herself since yesterday afternoon. She's losing her sweetest friend, as Cuddles so warmly embraced her coming into our house last December. They became thick as thieves.
