1. It's interesting to me that I was taught this song in my youth,

but never knew the meaning of the Hebrew.

Like most everything having to do with my family introducing me to Judaism, it was ornamental, not organic. (My mother was a fourth generation atheist and my father was Jewish but didn't know why.)
